This is a stumble about how dance practices might unravel academic
conventions, conventional habits of thinking, research, conventional
modes for the movement of ideas. This is a slight unpicking at the level of
pages. We are interested in inclusion, exclusion, feeling, space.
We are Jenny Roche and Alys Longley – both artist-academics,
working in Brisbane, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand respectively.
This is a chapter about the travel of dance ideas, and about a friendship as it develops through us meeting at different events – sharing our experiences working in increasingly neo-liberal university settings.
